Heater Core Introduction

heater core

1. Definition

Heater Core is a heat exchanger component inside a car that transfers the heat generated by the engine to the interior of the vehicle to provide heating.

2. Working Principle

When the vehicle engine is running, a lot of heat is generated. This heat is brought to the heater core through the coolant circulation. The heater core is essentially a small radiator filled with coolant. When the hot coolant of the engine flows through the heater core, the fan blows through the heater core to heat the air. The heated air is then sent into the cabin through the vehicle's ventilation system to provide heating for the passengers.

3. Structure

The heater core is usually made of metal or plastic tubes, with many small channels inside for coolant to flow through. These channels are arranged closely together to increase the efficiency of heat exchange. The fan is usually installed on one side or above the heater core to ensure that the air can flow evenly through the heater core.

4. Function

Heating function: Provide passengers with a comfortable riding environment by heating the air inside the vehicle.

Temperature control: In conjunction with the vehicle's temperature control system, the temperature inside the car can be adjusted according to the needs of the passengers.

5. Precautions

Regular maintenance: The heater core needs to be checked and cleaned regularly to ensure it works properly.

Coolant replacement: Regularly replacing the coolant can prevent scaling or corrosion inside the heater core.

Avoid blockage: Avoid placing any objects that may block air flow in front of the heater core to ensure it works properly.

Through the above introduction, we can clearly understand the importance and working principle of the Heater Core in the car's internal heating system.
